My journey from public company to private non-profit work

Caroline Barlerin is a founding member and current Board Chair of Taproot Foundation whose mission is to strengthen nonprofits by engaging business professionals in service. Her experience includes management and leadership roles in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She is currently the Managing Director at Level Playing Field Institute, a nonprofit committed to promoting fairness in higher education and the workplace. Prior to this position, Caroline was a Client Director at TrueBrand and Landor Associates working with global Fortune 500 companies on marketing, brand and business strategy.

Caroline has played an active role in her community as a Women’s Policy Institute of California fellow, a member of Leadership San Francisco, a former board member of CARAL and the National Organization for Women’s San Francisco chapter (NOW). She is committed to advancing the rights of women and girls and building capacity within the nonprofit sector. When Caroline first arrived in San Francisco, she founded the West Coast chapter of Third Wave, the only national activist philanthropic organization for young women between the ages of 15 and 30. Caroline received her B.A. in sociology from Vassar College.
