You are what you eat, and other food for thought from an integrative rheumatologist
February 24, 2022 @ 7:20 am - 9:00 am PST
FreeDr. Jill Weintraub is an integrative rheumatologist in New York City, and the founder of Integrative Rheumatology Consultants. She will share her journey from being the Chief of Rheumatology in a large multispecialty group to opening her own solo practice, as well as how she balances the practice of evidence-based medicine with an approach that encompasses mind, body, and spirit.
Dr. Weintraub believes that promptly treating end-organ damage while working back to the original disease trigger is the best way to provide comprehensive care while restoring a sense of agency and self-advocacy to her patients. She will also address the importance of intentionality as a means of healing, for both patients and doctors alike.
Dr. Jill Weintraub is a double board-certified Integrative Rheumatologist. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Michigan, and continued on to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she graduated with the distinction of Alpha Omega Alpha. She finished her Internal Medicine Residency at The Mount Sinai Medical Center, and completed her Rheumatology subspecialty training at The Hospital for Joint Disease at NYU. She is the Andrew Lowell fellowship recipient for the study of Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil. She was the Chief of Rheumatology at a large multispecialty group in Westchester for over 10 years, and has been named one of New York’s best doctors. Dr. Weintraub is an active member of the American College of Rheumatology, and the primary investigator for several studies on the use of complementary therapies in autoimmune diseases. She is also a trained chef, and a practitioner of “The Work” by Byron Katie, a meditative self-inquiry practice. Dr. Weintraub is the founder of Integrative Rheumatology Consultants, and is the co-creator of Kitchen-Prescription, a cooking and wellness blog.
