TMD member Kim Walesh, head of Collaborative Economics, spoke on “Unfinished Business: Women in the Silicon Valley Economy”, a recent study on the changing roles of women in the Silicon Valley economy and community. TMD co-founder Kate Purmal spoke about her new book, “Strong Voices, Real Choices”, about how some professional women are balancing work with their family life. A compilation of real stories, the book provides an overview of the most common options – working less as an employee and becoming a consultant or “free agent” – while focusing in-depth on making part-time and job share options work. Kim and Kate also shared their learnings from these projects on how to realize our professional dream projects.
