Our March TMD speaker, former Mountain View Mayor Margaret Abe-Koga, told us about a recent situation she experienced that opened an old wound to a new trend—racism against Asian Americans. However, the meeting ended before exploring what we, as bystanders, can do.

Jenny Skoble sent out this link to a nonprofit that’s tackling this very issue by offering information and webinars to help us bystanders understand how we can respond and help.

Several TMD members are attending one of Hollaback’s webinars, and we thought it might be helpful to get together to discuss this issue further whether you do a webinar or not. Our session will give us Sisters a more intimate setting for this dialogue.

As with racism, one nonprofit, one webinar and one TMD Pop Up won’t fix the problem, but it’s important to address it and find ways to not just stand by.
